The department of treasury and fundraising is responsible for managing Mmbondo Africa’s finances. Supporting efficient and sustainable financial management is fundamental to the promotion of economic development, good governance, social progress and a rising standard of living for members of Mmbondo Africa. The department is mandated to ensure transparency, accountability and sound financial controls in the management of Mmbondo Africa assets including finance resources.
The department is mandated to promote Mmbondo Africa’s income generation policy framework; to coordinate interdepartmental financial relations; to enforce policy on revenue on member structures and to manage the budget preparation process, which provides for an equitable distribution of overall raised revenue between Mmbondo Africa (mother body) and member structures (Emos); and to monitor the implementation of departmental budgets.
As mandated by the executive and assembly, the department of treasury and fundraising will continue to support the optimal allocation and utilisation of financial resources in all spheres of the network to reduce poverty and vulnerability among Mmbondo community.
The treasury and fundraising department priorities include increasing income generating initiatives (investments) in the network and member structures; improving education and developing fundraising skills for raising productivity to fight poverty and inequality within the community. And enhance employment levels, income support and empowerment.
